The Psychology of Computer Programming: Silver Anniversary Edition 2000, 360pp, Dorset House [ISBN 0932633420 (amazon.com, search)] by JerryWeinberg

This book hooked me on self-improvement and self-observation back in 1975 or 1976. (1st edition is copyrighted 1971) Unlike tech "hot button" books, this has stood the test of time and still shines. It just keeps growing on you that "things don't have to be that way!"

--BobLee July, 2002

To this edition Jerry has added comments chapter by chapter on what has held up and what he would change based on developments over the intervening years. That combination provides a very interesting lens on what is timeless in how developers create systems, and what is just the fashion of the moment. - jb
