This book changed my life!!!! Well, kind of. I'd heard of it a long time before I got round to reading it, but when I did read it my first thought was, this is really nice stuff. My second was, it's got no value whatever in my daily work. My third was, I wish it had. So, when the bubble burst and my e-commerce "Technical Architect" job became one with the sands of time, it was partly the memory of wishing to spend more of my (paid) time doing the kind of thinking about programming that Bentley shows here that lead to me taking a sizeable cut in salary and accepting a job where I'd be spending most of my time writing code. --
