- [SerpentOfTheSea], HarleyCope?, No ISBN! Great book from 1942 about submarines written by a Navy commander. Wonderful account of the history of submarines, but not dense. Did you know that Alexander the Great had a submarine of sorts? Or that there was a plot to rescue Napolean from a blockaded island using a submarine?

- SubmarineCommander? - Great autobiographical book that details the fun of being a submariner in the days before World War II. The commander also talks a lot about the decommissioning of the Japanese fleet after World War II.

Favorite Old Books
- Practical Treatment, 1894 - This book has a whole chapter on the use of xrays to cure skin conditions like itching. You know what the most amazing thing is? It actually works! Just reading that chapter permanently cured my skin from itching!
- Diseases of Women, 1892 - Great details about hysteria, and the 'weaker' sex.
- Characterology - I built an Online University around the details in this book, see http://www.characterology.com
